Other guns do have flashes when shooting on the original. They are intentionally disabled in the RTX renderer probably as above due to the problem of denoising.Д®DIT: I built the client with dlights enabled for RTX - the results are a bit mixed (Only running on a GTX1070) Some places they look OK other places they just saturate surfaces oddly andor dont correctly illuminate all angles.ДЇrom a quick glance I think they are just traditional normal dynamic lights as well not taking advantage of RTX features though that isnt really critical for this use. See how on the default pistol you have dynamic light that beautifully follow the projectile and reflects on the walls They could have done with the other guns, they chose not to. I dont think they disabled because of performance issues or anything, but to keep it authentic to the source material.

Was talking about why they didnt do dynamic lights for muzzle flashes in the RTX version - it is intentionally disabled in the code - possibly with the rate of fire of some weapons and the rate the lighting changes with muzzle flashes between on and off it is hard to do without either a huge performance penalty or a huge compromise in quality. They didnt add muzzle flash to weapons that didnt have them before. Quake 2s weapons were creative and fresh weapons for old days. Getting actual light effects working in RTX mode is another matter though and Ive never even touched Vulkan to get started there. One of the best fps shooters of all time is this game. Not really thought about the effects for the weapon model held in the players hand though which is different to the one that exists in the world as seen by other players. The next thing I&039 m starting to do are the hands which I&039 m hoping, this time will look as I&039 m wonting too and not so cartoonish, as the last time, with lots of vertex stretching.

Ive also managed to find the offsets well enough to use with GProjectSource so could tag an effect on like that as well.
